Marshall Crenshaw - Someday, Someway
I love that it sounds like a song from the 60’s.

I have created a time sensitive Style sheet script for my blog. There are now two separate themes. One for the daytime and one for the evening. The switch happens at 7:00 pm then reverts back to daytime at 5:00 am. If you are super impatient or just want to see what the different theme looks like, simply type “night” anywhere on the page. Typing “day” with do the opposite.
Also, if you would like to experience a horrible seizure type “falconpunch”. You have been warned.
So very cool.
“In this etymology game you’ll be presented with 10 randomly selected etymology (word origin) or word definition puzzles to solve; in each case the word or phrase is highlighted in bold, and a number of possible answers will be presented. You need to choose the correct answer to score a point for that question.”
I love studying word and phrase origins. This is a great game.
“Vintage design, when done well, can make a user feel like they have been transported back in time. This particular style often uses design elements that look like they were found in the attic of an old house dating back to the 1920’s, 30’s, or 40’s. If you have a project coming up that requires this type of design, here is a big roundup of textures and Photoshop brushes, all found at deviantArt.”
I found this ridiculously entertaining.
There is a lot of well deserved buzz for Wall-E, & to a lesser extent Wanted, going on around here, but I just wanted to add to the list a great 1st installment of a planned trilogy that started this weekend. Mongol is the story of Genghis Khan’s life and is surprisingly good. Now, it’s a foreign film with subtitles so that may cause pause for many but there’s something to be said for zero special effects or big name stars. Just some incredible scenery and historical perspective. I concede it will be a tough one to squeeze in for many because of of the opening of Hancock & Hellboy 2 in the next 10 days or so. I for one am actually much more anxious to see The Wackness & Gonzo. Both came out of Sundance with high praise & start this Thursday. All of these of course are simply fillers until The Dark Knight hits on the 18th.
I thought Wall-E was brilliant. Wasn’t so impressed with Wanted.
